Celtics Dominate Shorthanded Warriors 120-99
The Boston Celtics made a statement on Wednesday night, cruising to a 120-99 victory over the Golden State Warriors at home. Boston never really let the Warriors breathe, building a 13-point lead after the first quarter alone. Although Golden State tried to keep pace, the Celtics pulled away in every period. The Warriors were already dealing with major injuries heading in, and it showed on the court. Meanwhile, Boston looked sharp, confident, and very much like a team with championship ambitions.
Brown and Tatum Lead Boston's Dominant Effort
Jaylen Brown was the engine that drove Boston forward, finishing with 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists while shooting 52.4% from the field. He attacked relentlessly, and when defenders collapsed on him, his teammates were ready. Jayson Tatum continued his strong return from an Achilles injury, adding 24 points and 10 rebounds. While Tatum is still working his way back to full form, his presence makes Boston a much more dangerous team. Together, they gave the Warriors no easy answers.
Pritchard, Garza Shine as Warriors Struggle Without Stars
Payton Pritchard was a key spark off the bench — well, in the starting lineup — adding 19 points and 7 assists while finishing a remarkable plus-25 for the night. Luka Garza stepped up in place of injured Nikola Vucevic, delivering 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals in just 18 minutes. Meanwhile, the Warriors were without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, and Seth Curry, leaving a major void. Gary Payton II and Pat Spencer each scored 14 points, but Golden State couldn't overcome their shorthanded roster.
Golden State's Season Hits a Crossroads Without Curry
Without Stephen Curry, the Warriors looked like a completely different team. Golden State sits at 33-36, sitting 10th in the Western Conference and hovering dangerously close to missing the playoffs. Although Draymond Green contributed 13 points and 5 assists, his minus-12 rating reflected how much the team struggled. Kristaps Porzingis was the only Warrior to finish with a positive rating at plus-3. As a result, this loss puts more pressure on a franchise that may be facing a major rebuild. Boston, however, rolls on with real championship momentum.
