Timberwolves Top Suns 116-104 Without Edwards
On Tuesday night in Minnesota, the Timberwolves defeated the Phoenix Suns 116-104, despite missing their superstar Anthony Edwards to injury. Without their biggest weapon, Minnesota leaned on a deep roster and strong team effort to pull away. Phoenix fought hard, keeping the game close through three quarters, but the Wolves eventually pulled ahead for good. Although the Suns are without several key players themselves, they stayed competitive until the final stretch, when Minnesota's depth proved to be too much to overcome.
Randle and Hyland Step Up Big for Minnesota
With Edwards sidelined, Julius Randle and Nah'Shon Hyland stepped up as Minnesota's offensive engines. Randle was dominant, finishing with 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals while shooting nearly 59 percent from the field. His physicality in the paint was impossible for Phoenix to contain. Meanwhile, Hyland came off the bench and delivered an outstanding performance, pouring in 22 points while shooting over 57 percent. His plus-18 rating shows how much the Wolves outscored Phoenix when he was on the floor.
Booker Fights Hard, But Suns Fall Short
Devin Booker was Phoenix's best player Tuesday, dropping 34 points in 35 minutes while pulling down 6 rebounds. Although Booker shot just under 41 percent from the field, he still carried the Suns' offense on his back all night. Oso Ighodaro stepped into the starting lineup with Mark Williams out, finishing with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds while adding 3 steals. Collin Gillespie contributed 12 points and 7 assists, though he struggled with efficiency, connecting on under 31 percent of his shots.
Minnesota Holds On as Phoenix Runs Out of Steam
After a tight first half — Phoenix actually led 39-36 after the first quarter — the Wolves took control in the third, outscoring the Suns and building a lead they never surrendered. Minnesota outscored Phoenix 28-21 in the final quarter, putting the game away for good. Ayo Dosunmu added 19 points and 5 rebounds, while Jaden McDaniels brought his signature two-way effort with 16 points and 4 steals. The Wolves proved that even without Edwards, their balance and defensive intensity make them a dangerous team to beat.
