Week 22 Top Performances: Best of the Best
Week 22 of the 2025-26 NBA season delivered some truly jaw-dropping performances. From a rookie stepping up without his team's stars to a veteran guard putting on a masterclass, this week had it all.
We're counting down the five best individual performances of the week, starting with number five. These players didn't just have good games — they had the kind of nights fans will be talking about for a while. Let's dive in.
Luka Doncic kicked off the countdown with one of the most dominant offensive performances you'll see all season. On Thursday, March 19, he dropped 60 points on 60% shooting against the Miami Heat, adding 7 rebounds and 5 steals in just 38 minutes. The Lakers trailed by 13 after the first quarter, but Luka refused to let his team stay down. He took over completely in the second half, and Los Angeles walked away with a 134-126 road victory. His step-back threes, drives to the rim, and relentless energy made him nearly impossible to stop all night.
Bam Adebayo and VJ Edgecombe Put On a Show
Even in a tough week for the Heat, Bam Adebayo proved why he's one of the most versatile big men in the league. His best game came Saturday, March 21, against Houston, where he recorded 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 4 assists while shooting 57% from the field. That kind of stat line — scoring and rebounding at an elite level — shows Adebayo's incredible range as a player. Although Miami lost, Bam competed hard and gave his team every chance to win. With Jimmy Butler gone, he's now carrying a much heavier load on both ends of the floor.
Rookie VJ Edgecombe landed at number three with a breakout performance that surprised everyone. On Thursday, March 19, with Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and Kelly Oubre Jr. all out injured, Edgecombe stepped up in a massive way. He finished with 38 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds while shooting 57% from the field. His plus-minus was an incredible +44, meaning Philadelphia outscored Sacramento by 44 points while he was on the court. The 76ers cruised to a 139-118 victory, and Edgecombe's performance proved he belongs at this level even as a first-year player.
DeMar DeRozan's Veteran Brilliance Stands Out
At 36 years old, DeMar DeRozan isn't slowing down anytime soon. On Sunday, March 15, he put together one of his best games of the season against Utah, finishing with 41 points, 11 assists, and 4 rebounds while shooting 52% from the field. DeRozan is known as one of the best mid-range scorers in NBA history, and this performance was a perfect example of why. He created scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates all night long, showing the kind of calm, experienced play that separates veterans from the pack.
While the Kings are having a difficult season — sitting at 18-53 and last in the Western Conference — DeRozan continues to give everything he has. His ability to get his own shot and run the offense late in games makes him one of Sacramento's most reliable weapons. However, one great performance from a veteran can only do so much when a team is going through a rebuild. DeRozan's Week 22 showing was a reminder that even on a struggling team, individual excellence still finds a way to shine.
Darius Garland Earns the Week's Top Spot
The number one performance of Week 22 belongs to Darius Garland of the LA Clippers. On Saturday, March 21, he put on an absolutely electric show against Dallas, finishing with 41 points and 11 assists while shooting an outstanding 63% from the field and 67% from three-point range. Those shooting percentages are almost unheard of for a guard dropping 41 points in a game. Garland's ability to run the offense, knock down threes, and create opportunities for teammates all in the same game is what makes him one of the best young point guards in the league today.
Garland's performance helped the Clippers pick up a win over Dallas, keeping them right in the middle of the playoff race at 35-36. His combination of efficiency and production — scoring 41 points while also racking up 11 assists — is the mark of a truly complete guard. While Luka's 60-point explosion gets a lot of attention, Garland's performance was arguably even more impressive when you consider how well he shot the basketball. Week 22 proved that when Darius Garland is on, he's one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NBA.
